In 'Dawn Between Fogs I', Mercedes Gordo captures an ethereal moment of serenity and contemplation. The delicate interplay between light and mist transforms the lake and wooded surroundings into a dreamlike realm, where reality gently fades into a veil of mystery. Each element, from the subtle silhouette of the fisherman's boat to the birds fading into the misty sky, contributes to the visual narrative of a peaceful awakening and the promise of a new day. The choice of blue tones and the skillful handling of oil on canvas invite the viewer to immerse themselves in the tranquility of the landscape, offering a refuge for the soul in search of calm and unaltered beauty.
Art has always been my calling. I believe there is something deeply transformative in creating, in shaping matter and turning it into a personal and magical space, channeling a unique sensitivity to observe and interpret the world. Painting is my language; a way to communicate and, at the same time, positively isolate myself from everyday reality. Through each brushstroke, I find a way to express emotions and feelings that I could hardly communicate otherwise. Painting allows me to reveal the most sensitive facet of my being and share my own vision of the world. Thus, my works seek to convey not only emotions, but also messages and reflections on our existence, social challenges and life itself. My artistic career began in realism, focused on landscapes and still lifes. Over time, I have explored more contemporary techniques and styles, creating a fusion between the classic and the modern. In each work, my goal is for the design, color and texture to awaken deep emotions in the viewer and open a space for reflection.
