In this daring piece, Mercedes Gordo immerses us in the depths of an imagined landscape where the sea and the volcano intertwine in an embrace of color and light. The vibrant application of blue evokes the immensity of the ocean and waves, while warmer tones suggest the latent presence of a volcano. This canvas becomes a battlefield and at the same time an alliance between water and fire, fundamental elements that give life and destroy. Through abstraction, we are invited to contemplate the eternal dance of nature, offering multiple personalized interpretations for each observer. With light and sun as guides, this work is a tribute to summer, to its moments of relaxation and fun, but also to its ability to inspire and renew.
Painting is my form of communication that allows me to isolate myself from reality in a positive way. Through painting I can express emotions and feelings that are not so easy for me to communicate in any other way. Painting a picture gives me the opportunity to bring out a large part of my most sensitive interior and show my own vision of the world.
