Description of the Artwork “Panorama 52-36. Nine octaves.”

Automatic translation

The painting is done in oil on hardboard. Full title: "Panorama 52-36. Nine octaves, one pianist and 4'33'' silence". I) I created the world's first painting where you can play and hear John Cage's music - "4.33." Silence sounds here! II) We all know Kazemir Malevich's "Black Square". But it turns out that musicians are "no less stupid" than artists. They also have their own "black square" - 4'33'' silence. So it turns out that in my painting, two kings of art feel great! Gentlemen, and the kings are naked!

About the artist

Milan Djurdjevic. Born in Šabac (Serbia). From early childhood he was interested in painting and literature. Attended art school (class of professor Zlata Petkovic). Basic education - engineering and technical. He continued to paint professionally (exhibitions, competitions...) since 2000. Participated in exhibitions in cities of Serbia, Germany, Russia. In 2023 - participant and winner of the Russian Arts Week in Moscow. Competition "Art Portrait" 2023 Moscow. - 2nd place. The artist’s paintings are in private collections in Serbia, Russia, the UAE, and the USA. Milan Djurdzhevich paints in his own genre - “Thematic Abstraction”. These paintings, like a mirror, reflect the past, the present itself and our entire world. This is exactly the conclusion that the artist came to after conducting a deep analysis and studying contemporary art. After all, a painting, even an abstract one, must be understandable to the viewer. And it will be understandable only if the artist writes a plot, a theme, and transfers thoughts to the canvas (if there are any, of course). “Looking at a painting is not just a process of contemplation for me. In any picture I try to see the event. It’s like returning to childhood through the balcony, quietly, on tiptoe...” (Milan Djurdjevic from the book “Thematic Abstraction with Comments and Explanations”).
