About the artist

Milan Djurdjevic. Born in Šabac (Serbia). From early childhood he was interested in painting and literature. Attended art school (class of professor Zlata Petkovic). Basic education - engineering and technical. He continued to paint professionally (exhibitions, competitions...) since 2000. Participated in exhibitions in cities of Serbia, Germany, Russia. In 2023 - participant and winner of the Russian Arts Week in Moscow. Competition "Art Portrait" 2023 Moscow. - 2nd place. The artist’s paintings are in private collections in Serbia, Russia, the UAE, and the USA. Milan Djurdzhevich paints in his own genre - “Thematic Abstraction”. These paintings, like a mirror, reflect the past, the present itself and our entire world. This is exactly the conclusion that the artist came to after conducting a deep analysis and studying contemporary art. After all, a painting, even an abstract one, must be understandable to the viewer. And it will be understandable only if the artist writes a plot, a theme, and transfers thoughts to the canvas (if there are any, of course). “Looking at a painting is not just a process of contemplation for me. In any picture I try to see the event. It’s like returning to childhood through the balcony, quietly, on tiptoe...” (Milan Djurdjevic from the book “Thematic Abstraction with Comments and Explanations”).
