This work is part of a small series of works by Juan Álvarez which he made based on the representation of a girl in a white dress. Here he shows us that figure sitting on a chessboard floor with his back to a small composition of a rose and a cup which face the viewer because they are in the foreground. A work full of very personal symbology, but the artist prefers Let the viewer be the one to draw their conclusions. It is an oil painting on wood prepared with a black and white treatment like grisaille, within a realistic frame close to photography.
