I wanted to capture the fragility of superficial relationships built only on what partners provide. Unfortunately, relationships like this are doomed to fail in the long run. There is no amount of gifts, emotional support, and patience that would keep certain people from being unsatisfied or discontent in a relationship. The title " But I Got You Flowers" sheds light on the subject of flowers not only representing the love between partners but also as a metaphor for the time, love, energy, and commitment to make a relationship work.
Born in Lagos Nigeria, Kolade Adegbite has always had a keen eye for art, from imagining post- - apocalyptic worlds, to playing in the clouds. His imagination always runs wild. He is a multidisciplinary visual artist, expressing his stories through several forms and mediums including: Acrylic, pastel, graphics design & photography. Currently preparing for law school, Kolade is based on Lagos mainland where he carries out his artistic practice and art. He hopes to one day show the world that there is true beauty within ourselves and the world around us.
