This picture transports you to the hot world of an Italian city, where the facades of buildings seem to come alive under the rays of the sun, revealing their beauty in all shades. Thanks to the author's "solarism" technique, Vanda Orlova transforms architectural details - windows, doors, window sills and walls - into dynamic elements that change under different angles of light. Here, sunlight not only emphasizes textures and colors, but also adds depth, creating the effect of real presence. Vanda weaves elements of gold potal into her work, giving the facades additional charisma and a sense of life. Thanks to this, even a window with flowers appears as a space with hidden stories, where every touch carries its own secret. In this canvas, each element is harmoniously woven into the overall composition, giving the viewer the opportunity to feel the spirit of the Italian cityscape with its invisible legends and living breath.
Vanda Orlova is a Ukrainian artist, known as VANDA, who created the author's solarism technique, thanks to which her "living paintings" literally radiate light and warmth. This technique, inspired by sunlight (from the Latin "solar"), uses gold potal, layering and light effects that allow the canvases to change depending on the angle of the light, creating a sense of living presence. In her work, Wanda explores the play of light and color, striving to convey emotional and meaningful shades through the harmony of form and sunlight. Her works have already gained international recognition, participating in numerous competitions and exhibitions, and are in private collections in Ukraine (in particular, Lina Kostenko), the USA, Italy, Canada and other countries. Wanda is a participant in numerous international competitions, including Jackson's Art Prize 2024 (UK), The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition 2024 (USA), BBA Artist Prize 2024 (Berlin, Germany) and Art Maze Mag (UK). Her creative journey, which began as an exploration of artistic expression, turned into an experiment with light, color and texture, which in 2024 led her to create her own technique. "Solarism" became a reflection of the very nature of light - from the Latin "solar", which means "solar" - and opened a new dimension in painting, in which paintings literally come to life in light rays, changing their appearance depending on the lighting. The essence of Vanda Orlova's solarism lies not only in technical techniques, but also in a deep philosophy of light as a symbol of warmth, life, and movement. With the help of gold paint, multi-layered strokes and often textured elements, her canvases reproduce the play of sunlight, which adds not only visual dynamics to the picture, but also metaphorical meaning. This approach allows you to create the effect of a "living painting" that interacts with the viewer in real time, changes throughout the day, as if breathing and responding to light. For Wanda, the process of developing an author's technique was a process of constant searching and experimentation. She tried different materials, trying to find a way to convey the dynamism of light, which constantly changes the mood of the picture. It is this connection between the warmth of the sun's rays and the multi-layered colors and tints that gives her canvases the ability to "come alive" in the presence of the viewer, creating a unique world where the depth of color is combined with the play of light. Currently, Wanda is working on a series of new paintings, which she plans to present at her first solo exhibition. Until now, these works remain secret and we can see only their parts in the photo. Each canvas reflects the interaction of texture and light, creating a living experience for the viewer, inviting them to immerse themselves in the moment of encountering warmth, light and new senses. These are not just works of art, but a way to share the feeling of hope and harmony embodied in the "living paintings" of solarism, which, according to the artist's idea, leave a warm and unforgettable mark in the soul.
