Description of the Artwork “Chimeras have come to life”
This is a jewel of Kyiv architecture - the famous House with Chimeras. There is a legend that at midnight the chimeras come back to life... I have enjoyed working on this painting. And while preparing for it, I studied in detail the photographs of chimeras, which turned out not to be chimeras at all, but rather pretty animals:)
Dariia Zhyrova, Ukraine
Zhyrova Dariia, born in 1985 Dariia has been painting since childhood, she studied at the children's art school in Kiev. In adolescence, she became interested in programming and decided to get an education in the field of IT. In 2009 Dariia graduated with honors from the master program of National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" with a degree in Information Control Systems and Technologies. She works as a software developer, and devotes her free time to painting. The artist uses oils, acrylics, watercolors, pencils, pastels, charcoal and other graphic materials. She also loves to experiment and combine different materials in one work - mixed media. Dariia studies a lot, reads books on painting, watches online master classes and shoots her own. Artist's works are in private collections in the USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, Ukraine and Russia.
