Vanda Orlova is a Ukrainian artist known in Europe under the creative pseudonym VANDA, a participant in numerous international competitions, including Jackson's Art Prize 2024 (Great Britain), The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition 2024 (USA), BBA Artist Prize 2024 (Berlin, Germany) and Art Maze Mag (UK). Wanda's paintings have been featured in exhibitions, competitions and art tours throughout Europe and are in private collections in many countries, including Ukraine, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Greece, Italy, the USA and Canada. Her journey into the world of art began in 2021, when the desire to create turned into an exploration of artistic consciousness. She works with oil and acrylic on canvas, sometimes using textured pastes. In her works, Wanda tries to convey the values of life through the beauty of the world, often getting inspiration from music and experimenting with colors, shapes and textures. Wanda's creative process is a constant search for methods of visualizing ideas. She experiments with different techniques, materials and combinations, paying great attention to color and a limited palette. Each work begins with the main plot, which is gradually filled with new ideas and elements. Sometimes the decision does not come immediately, then she leaves the canvas for a certain time, continuing to think over it. Wanda often works on several paintings at the same time, constantly thinking about each one until she finishes. Experiments are an integral part of her works. In each painting, she develops, using new techniques, materials and combinations of ideas. Most of her works are written with a limited palette - only 5 basic colors. Wanda finds special pleasure in creating new shades and compositions. He often uses gilding to strengthen certain significant elements in the plot of the picture. Wanda wants viewers of her works to feel not only her presence, but also the idea she wants to convey. Each of her paintings is not just an image, but a living, warm world of emotions, where everyday life is intertwined with artistic images, creating a unique harmony.
