The pipe of peace

This picture is the result of the artist's reflections on the theme of war and peace. But neither weapons, nor warriors, nor battle are depicted here. Volodymyr Korolievskyi found well-known objects filled with a clear meaning, but not found in this combination. These objects are antagonistic: the ax of war and the pipe of peace. They represent mutually exclusive tendencies, not existing at the same time but replacing each other in turn. The dualism of militancy and peacefulness, unfortunately, does not go over to the absolute triumph of peace, despite all the terrible lessons of the past. But in this picture the ax of war burns in the pipe of peace - in contrast to the fact that peace is usually passive and is simply a lack of belligerence. The energies of militancy are annihilated forever - in the flow of love, declaring an active position. After that, the ax of war can neither be buried nor unearthed, because it no longer exists.
