About the artist

My name is Fabio Pasquali, I was born on 2 October 1997 in Gattinara (VC) and I live in Bioglio (BI) in Piedmont. I have a certificate in thermo-hydraulics and a diploma as a surveyor, so my artistic path is determined by my self-taught desire. The first technique that opened me to painting was spray art, the use of spray cans, in high school; in this primordial phase the dimensions of the works were around 33x48cm and the subjects were replicas that I saw in this current, such as spatial landscapes, pyramids and skylines of various cities. Still with spray art, at a certain point, I integrated with other techniques such as tempera and pencils and the subjects became animals, the first humanoid subjects, real people and I began to give political, social, critical religious and environmental in some works; in general there is also always an aesthete factor that accompanies me today. The dimensions of the works in this artistic period were 22x31cm and I built the canvases myself with waste material, over time I perfected the techniques of these canvases with new materials for the canvas part in particular, the first ones were canvases with a wooden frame and treated cardboard canvas. For a very short period I had an artistic phase where I used tempera and in this phase there was no addition of female subjects, which is currently characteristic of my artistic line. After the previous phase I moved on to acrylics, almost immediately, this period is characterized by an artistic phase dominated by a strong aesthete component and mainly rich in female portraits; including full and side nude works with a meaning more intrinsic to me as a person. The sizes, still current, were 30x40, 40x60, 50x70 and 70x100cm and here I started canvases using a construction process with the real cotton canvas part; obviously treated. From here on I simply integrated with various techniques to improve the final result, I expanded the subjects of the paintings with what I felt inside; therefore with personal emotional meaning and the canvases I use now are only the ones I make with a wooden frame and treated cotton canvas. In between my different phases and larger technical acquisitions I have developed series characterized by a single technique or to communicate a specific aspect of my person such as ideas and opinions, one of these is the series based only on the use of charcoal and with measures 21x29.7cm; This series includes all the themes and subjects developed during my artistic journey and has only cardboard as a support and then placed in a frame. The other series is characterized by social, political, religious criticism and environmental themes with the physical size of an A5, more or less, sometimes featuring public figures. Like any self-styled artist I am looking for new things to inspire me.
