Description of the Artwork “Snow in the middle of summer”

Automatic translation

How often are abnormalities in our life?! You can treat unexpected events in different ways: you can create a panic, or you can turn it into an exciting adventure. Some things we cannot change, but we can treat them differently. This is what I wanted to show with my painting. Leo is summer, in this picture he personifies the heat of summer, the brilliance, and strength of the midday Sun, splendor, strength, and courage. At the same time, he is kind and mischievous like a kitten, rejoices, and plays with snowflakes. The general mood of the picture evokes a smile and tenderness, it will fill the space with positive energy. The contrast of colors makes it fresh and dynamic, the multi-layered paint application creates an interesting play of color and texture, thereby making it even more interesting to look at. The picture is painted with acrylics on cotton canvas and covered with a protective transparent varnish layer. Please note that the colors of the original painting may not differ much from the photo. It depends on the color rendering of your screen.

About the artist

Artist | Painter | Member of the Swedish Artists’ Association I am a multidisciplinary artist originally from Kherson, Ukraine. Since 2022, I have been living and working in the Västerbotten region of Sweden. My practice spans painting, sculptural forms and public art, often incorporating elements of traditional craft. Regardless of the medium, my projects are always united by a core idea: to create emotionally charged visual worlds where the viewer can experience presence, stillness, and warmth beyond language. I draw inspiration from the world around me — every moment, every object holds its own uniqueness if we know how to look. Nature, people, and the small details of everyday life become the source material for my visual language, which I translate into poetic imagery. My work is characterized by open colors, symbolic elements, and a sense of care. Friendly, almost childlike figures often appear in my paintings and objects — as reflections of a deep longing for connection with the self, with time, and with the natural world. In recent years, I have become increasingly engaged with the role of art in social contexts — how it shapes a sense of place, invites participation, and contributes to collective well-being. I initiate projects where community members are invited to take part in the creative process, especially in smaller or rural areas. My art is born from the personal, but it reaches toward the collective. I believe that artistic expression can be more than an aesthetic gesture — it can be a bridge between people and place, between memory and the future
