Description of the Artwork “TULIP DEW”

Tulips are one of my favourite flowers and this magnificent specimen was captured down in the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden in St Ives Cornwall. St Ives is a place I love to visit around spring time each year when this wonderful coastal region is just waking up from winter. The tulip’s vivid orange and reds stand out stunningly against the misty grey background to produce a morning dew spectacle to remember. If you are looking for something bright and colourful with lots of detail and a touch of class, this art piece could be for you. Hope you like it too. PLEASE NOTE: This genuine Limited Edition Artwork is 1 of only 15 in total. This means no more than 15 will ever be produced for sale. This Limited Edition number is guaranteed by the Artist and confirmed within a signed and registered Certificate of Authenticity. The Artist (Copyright Owner) reserves the right to include smaller images of this artwork in promotional material and advertising media. The inspiration for my art comes from my inner desire to capture the colour and beauty of a specific scene which if missed at that time, could be gone forever. I use a process whereby the original photograph is carefully modified using digital manipulation to create unique and stunning oil painting style art. Although this particular method can be lengthy, my love for creating this style of art makes the whole process an enjoyable pleasure. I always print to canvas using archive grade inks and specialist matt varnish. I find canvas (aside from being extremely tough) provides the best texture and depth whilst the specialist pigment inks and varnish deliver wonderful bold, vibrant colours. Materials used: High grade canvas; Epson archive pigment inks; Specialist acrylic varnish. Size of Art: 24” x 16” (60.96mm x 40.64mm). Having my own framing workshop, I am also able to offer framing options. Please see below details of framing options. GALLERY WRAPPED: This method uses a 38mm chunky pine wood stretcher frame and comes ‘ready to hang’. TRADITIONAL OUTER WOODEN FRAME: With this option the artwork is also gallery wrapped, but with a slightly smaller pine wood stretcher frame. This allows the smaller stretcher frame to be inserted into a traditional type picture frame of your choice (see frame options in artwork images). This option provides the best of both in that you have the beauty and longevity of art on canvas, inserted into a traditional style wooden frame of your choice. NO FRAME: Unframed artwork will be prepared and sent in roll form only; artwork will be supplied at 24" x 16" plus a 2 cm white border unless otherwise requested. Unframed artwork can be produced to suit your framing preference, so please advise and I will be happy to prepare the artwork to suit your needs. Whichever of the 3 options you choose (Gallery Wrapped, Traditional Outer Frame, or No Frame), the price is the same and is inclusive of delivery. There are no extra costs, there are no hidden costs. Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries regarding my artwork.

DAVID LACEY

DAVID LACEY, United Kingdom

Born and raised in Amesbury Wiltshire (which many will know is home to the famous Stonehenge), I currently live in Ilchester Somerset with my lovely wife Rebecca and son Jack. Since I first picked up a camera at the age of eight, I have always had a passion for photography. My inspiration comes from my inner desire to capture the colour and beauty of a specific scene which if missed at that time, could be gone forever. The advent of digital was a godsend to photographers like myself in that the expensive film processing costs simply vanished overnight. Digitalization has also allowed photographers to become super creative with their work. My particular art is all about texture and colour. I use a process whereby the original photograph is modified using digital manipulation to create unique and stunning artwork which looks part photo and part painting. The original photographic image is carefully enhanced by adding varying degrees of colour and texture, which in turn creates greater depth to the artwork. Although this process creates a completely new and unique image, the content and composition of the original photograph remains ‘exactly the same’. This is an aspect of my work which I feel very strongly about. If you start changing the content of the original photograph (the reason why you took the photo in the first place), that ‘magic of the moment’, could be lost. All artwork is a Limited Edition of either 3 or 15, with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. See individual listings for Limited Edition Size. Materials used: Quality canvas; Epson archive grade pigment inks; Specialist acrylic varnish. Size of Art: 24” x 16” (60.96mm x 40.64mm) Frames are available with this artwork. If you would rather have the artwork supplied unframed, this is not a problem. Simply advise of your border size requirements and the artwork will be prepared to your liking. Details of frame options will be sent on receipt of order. Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries regarding my artwork.
