Description of the Artwork “Midsummer”

Automatic translation

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” (F. Scott Fitzgerald)

About the artist

Hello, welcome to my site.My name is Ivan. I am a professional artist from Ukraine. Chairman of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine in Sumy region. Honored artist of the Ukraine. My paintings exhibited in the museums and in the private collections around the world. The main scenes for the works are Ukrainian landscapes. The natural world of Ukraine represents a inexhaustible source of inspiration. The most interesting thing for me in writing pictures is to express the various states of nature, its mood. It can be the light of the setting sun on the crown and trunk of a pine tree, or daylight in the juicy young grass, reflexes and shades, glare, or a shadow that has fallen. It is these moments that I try to capture and show to the viewer, to share what I saw and noticed. It’s pleasure for me to spend time working with my artworks and get in return the great inspiration and motivation to create more and more paintings.I'm has great experience in the plein air, and this is what allows me to masterfully own the color. I am inspired by the way light shapes the landscape, and I strive to capture it on canvas. I often paint en plein air (on location), which allows me to use all my senses.
