The painting “The Cat and the Drum” was inspired by a dream, a fragment of which soon entered the story. “At the massive door of the house there was a lonely drum. And the cat almost reached him. I was aiming for her, being completely disoriented. Intuitively, I understood that except by touching it - there is no other way out of this madness. The cat jumped off onto the drum and disappeared. I still had a few more steps. But suddenly I stumbled and fell on the pavement. Trying to reach the drum, I saw my hand smoldering like burning paper.
