Description of the Artwork “Japanese - Coffee”

Automatic translation

"Japanese Woman - Coffee" is part of Ira Kub's series of works "Japan". The “Japan” series was created in 2020 based on classic Japanese prints. The faces are depicted schematically, the main attention is paid to the emotions of the characters in the portrait. The polka dot pattern and bright colors give the drawings a decorative and poster-like feel as a tribute to the masters of Japanese posters, such as Shigeo Fukuda, Ikko Tanaka and others. There is a clear connection with the work of Yayoi Kusama. There are about 30 works in the series

Ira is inspired by such masters as Vincent Van Gogh, Yayoi Kusama, Roy Lichtenstein, Christo. In her paintings, she seeks answers to questions about the interaction and exchange of human emotions with the outside world, and tries to find inner balance through self-expression in art. Ira creates her own universe, an important part of which is homage to the works of great artists in a deeply original style. Ira is in constant search; in addition to acrylic, she works a lot with graphic materials, introducing elements of handicraft and folk art, which makes her works bright, relevant and recognizable.
