Description of the Artwork “Ugly duckling”

Automatic translation

To be honest, I still don’t know how she will be named, but I tend to name my art by the fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen “The Ugly Duckling”, because they have some similarities. I can interpret my picture as a beautiful soul in a not very attractive body, because for many people such a problem is close to the heart. And he or she is afraid to reveal his true self to the full. I consider my work a kind of revolutionary in my life, thanks to which a new door will open for me, which will show me the way to new opportunities

Nik Borko, Ukraine

My name is Nikita and I am 21 years old, I am from Ukraine, the city of Skadovsk, which is located on the Black Sea coast. We moved there from Kyiv when I was three years old, due to the fact that my father left us. Grew up and grew up in this small town, literally near the beach, contemplating sea sunrises and sunsets from his window. Since childhood, I have been drawn to drawing and creating something with my own hands. My mother noticed this and decided to send me to an art school, where I studied until the end of the ninth grade, but at that time I did not want to do this, because I considered this occupation not what I needed, I was drawn to extreme sports. Maybe this is due to the fact that when I didn’t have a desire, or something constantly didn’t work out for me, to the point of disappointment in myself, I wanted to give it all up and move on. But I didn't stop painting. Also, I didn’t get to fully know all the subtleties of academic painting, and I simply don’t like most of my works, but I want to admit that I love this business and I want to devote my whole life to creativity and self-development. Because when I create something worthwhile, I get the feeling that I have put a part of myself into it, it makes me feel not "knick-knack". I want to start traveling to see what is beyond the horizon and be inspired by it, in order to give the whole world my impressions in the form of bright colors on the canvas.
