Description of the Artwork “Hare in meadow”
My latest series of artwork captures wildlife of all shapes and sizes. I am experimenting with a new technique using gesso on watercolour paper which resisting the paint and adds highlights and texture. I paint over the gesso with watercolours applied very loosely and add the final touches in acrylic paint. I love playing and experimenting and also spatter the paintings for added interest. I am a contemporary artist based in Peterborough, graduating in Art and Design from De Montfort University, Leicester in 2000. I am a versatile artist, my art work usually incorporates watercolour, mixed media and acrylic. I am adept at landscape, seascape and wildlife painting as well as producing beautiful commissioned portraits I don’t specialise in any given subject as I don’t like to feel restricted - so I paint them all!! I think you could say the natural world is my main subject matter. Life hasn’t always awarded me the opportunity to paint so I grab every moment I can using my versatile and creative approach to produce some delightfully captivating artwork.
