Printed on premium, heavy-weight archival paper, this Giclee print is the exact same size and color as the original. It also shows each brushstroke with vivid accuracy. I was inspired by the way these nurses and doctors didn't hesitate at all to step in and help. These people selflessly are working non-stop (literally passing out due to exhaustion) just to try to save as many people as they can. I even read that many of the healthcare workers are sleeping in their cars in order to protect their families from getting the virus. This hit home for me. These people are true heroes. They are risking their own lives and sacrificing everything they have in order to save everyone else. I can't even imagine what they must be going through mentally and physically. I wanted to pay tribute to them as they are on the front lines of this battle.
I am an oil painter based in Salt Lake City, UT and have been exhibiting artwork nationwide since 2015. I began painting and drawing at a very young age, and studied with various professional artists at both the Bridge Academy and Hein Academy before completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Utah in 2015. I paint whatever comes to mind. Oftentimes it is things that I am passionate about such as animals and human emotions. Other times it could be a dream I had, something going on in the world, or an idea inspired by an experience or object. My work is rooted in realism due to my classical training, but has a sense of emotional expression with quick brushstrokes and heavy application of paint.
