About the artist

Yuri Ivanovich Bezzubov (1937-2006) is an artist whose heritage is worthy to go down in the history of not only the creative life of Murom, but of the whole of Russia. Graphics and painting by Yu. Bezzubov are two equal, but in many respects excellent facets, in which his creative personality was reflected in different ways, and the artist’s skill was manifested. Yuri Ivanovich continued his search for creativity all his life, overcoming vanity and turning “everyday life” into a unique and significant fact of art. Murom became the city of Fate in the life and work of Yuri Bezzubov. And the artist himself became a “Genius of the place” for the city, kind, wise and attentive. Hundreds of the master’s works are numerous reflections of the familiar and changing face of the ancient and cozy Murom. Arriving here in 1963, Yuri was in the circle of artists, the formation of which also took place in the era of the "thaw". Yu. I. Bezzubov was born in Kulebaki. Educated at the Gorky Art College. In 1965, his landscape was recognized as the best at the All-Union Exhibition of Amateur Authors. The artist’s only personal exhibition was held in Gorky in 1974. He took part in a number of city (Murom) and regional exhibitions (Vladimir). From 1974 to 1997 he taught at the Murom Children's Art School. He brought up more than one generation of children. More than a hundred of his students have become professional artists. Many works by Yu.I. Bezzubov is kept in the Murom Museum of History and Art and in private collections.
