The name of the artwork translates as «blinded by the lights», and here Daria Tkacheva leads the viewer into a labyrinth of connotations. A majority of word interpretations «blindness» and «light» include connotations, which the viewer subjectively applies to themselves, based on personal experiences. The positioning of abstract coloured shapes on the canvas becomes a collaged shape, tangling the meanings. The painter demonstrates the diversity of clean shades, where vivid colours border with black and grey - this way, depending on our experience, we transform symbols in our mind.
Daria Tkacheva is a young abstract artist, was born in Moscow. Her works are an expression of emotions - impulsive and sometimes smooth gestures on the canvas. She predominantly works in a mixed media. Using acrylic, oil pastel and charcoal. “I create these pieces to work through personal and creative struggles. It makes me feel free from my mind when you can transfer everything that was inside to the canvas. When you looking at these works is like you're reading my book, and you can feel that this process has made me stronger. That's what art is supposed to do. Make people feel something.”
