1. About the contest

The Jose Art Gallery painting contest is a great opportunity for every registered member of the Jose Art Gallery creative community to promote their profile and introduce their artwork to the audience. No fees are required to participate in the contest. We just want to make life brighter! Let the world see your unique works of art!

2. Stages of the contest and nominations

The contest includes three successive, but at the same time, independent stages, including: “Best Painting of the WEEK”, “Best Painting of the MONTH”, “Best Painting of the YEAR”.

The nomination “BEST PAINTING OF THE WEEK” is the initial stage of the contest, which is held weekly (from Monday to Sunday).

The selection of a painting for participation in the nomination “Best Painting of the Week” is carried out automatically, based on the data on the number of views of the painting by site users over the past week. To participate in the contest, 16 paintings are selected from among the most viewed, one most viewed painting from one artist.

After determining the paintings participating in the nomination “Best Painting of the Week”, they are put on the contest page for users to vote. The painting that gets the most votes receives the status of “Best Painting of the Week” and is fixed at the top of the painting search for a period of 1 week, and the painting author’s profile is assigned the badge of the winner in this nomination.

The nomination “BEST PAINTING OF THE MONTH” is the second stage of the contest, which is held every month.

The choice of the author’s painting for participation in the nomination “Best Painting of the Month” is carried out from among the winners of the nomination “Best Painting of the Week” for the previous month and the next 2 places in each week.

After determining the paintings participating in the nomination “Best Painting of the Month”, they are put up on the contest for users to vote. The painting that collects the most votes receives the status of “Best Painting of the Month” and is fixed at the top of the painting search for a period of 1 month, and the painting author’s profile is assigned the badge of the winner in this nomination.

The nomination “BEST PAINTING OF THE YEAR” is the final stage of the contest, which is held once a year (in January of the following year). The choice of the author’s painting for participation in the nomination “Best Painting of the Year” is carried out from among the winners of the nomination “Best Painting of the Month” for the current year. 12 paintings are selected to participate in the contest.

After determining the paintings participating in the “Best Painting of the Year” nomination, they are put up on the contest page for users to vote. The painting that collects the most votes receives the status of “Best Painting of the Year” and is fixed at the top of the painting search for a period of 1 month, and the painting author’s profile is assigned the badge of the winner in this nomination.

3. Paintings participating in the contest

All paintings by registered members of the Jose Art Gallery creative community participate in the contest, with the exception of those paintings that have previously become winners in a specific category or paintings that have the “Sold” status during the selection period for the contest.

In addition, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that only one of the user’s most viewed paintings can take part in the contest.

4. The system for counting the number of views of a painting

The system for counting the number of views of a painting is carried out by the site automatically by summing up the number of natural openings of the artwork page (sessions on the page) by site visitors (registered and unregistered). The site system does not take into account the artificial cheating of views by entering and exiting the page multiple times, refreshing the page, or other methods that imitate views.

You can find information about the number of views of your painting in the “Statistics” section in the profile tab. This option is available to users who have a Pro subscription.

5. Voting order for nominees

All registered users of the Jose Art Gallery platform can take part in voting for the best painting of the week/month/year. Each voter has the right to three votes (within a specific stage of the contest). Vote recall (vote change) for the nominee’s painting is not allowed. Voting results are calculated automatically.

6. The procedure for informing the nominees and winners of the contest

Informing the nominees and the winner of the contest about the progress and results of the contest is carried out via e-mail.

7. Winner of contest

The painting that receives the most votes becomes the winner of the contest (contest stage) and receives the badge ‘Best Painting of the Week" / “Best Painting of the Month” / “Best Painting of the Year”, respectively, and the painting author’s profile is assigned the badge of the winner in this nomination.

If in the contest several paintings have received an equal number of votes, the status of the winner is assigned to the painting that had more views at the stage of selection for the contest.

8. Tips for increasing the number of views of the painting

There are several most effective ways to increase the number of views of your paintings:

 
• Share the painting page on your social media pages (Twitter, Linkedin, etc.). To do this, go to the painting page and click on the “Share” button, then publish the painting page in the feed on the social network. The system will publish the painting in your feed, provided that you have previously authorized (logged into your account) in the social network.
 
• Send a direct link to the page of your painting via instant messengers, e-mail or SMS to your friends and acquaintances, asking them to view the page of your painting in the online gallery.
 

To get a direct link to a painting, open your painting’s page in your browser and copy the URL (address bar at the top of the page).

The more your friends and acquaintances follow the links in social networks or direct links to the page of your painting, the more views will be taken into account by the system, which will increase the chances of participation of your painting in the contest.
