Ophelia's eyes

Ophelia is a character in William Shakespeare's drama Hamlet. She is a young noblewoman of Denmark, the daughter of Polonius, sister of Laertes, and future wife of Prince Hamlet, who, due to Hamlet's actions, ends up in a state of madness that ultimately leads to her drowning. My painting depicts Ophelia lying on her back on the bed with both hands in her hair. The beauty and innocence of her figure and posture with her hands curled in hair present a maiden sleeping soundly in her boudoir: a grave suitable of the maiden betrayed by her only love. The series of paintings "Anima" outlines the nature of "Animus" feminine aspiration, which is the personification of the most desired woman: "The unreachable feminine ideal." by SAFIR OIL ON CANVAS, 140cm x 190cm ORIGINAL ARTWORK
