ARIA DA CAPO

This work is inspired by the "Aria da Capo", final piece of the Goldberg Variations BWV 988 (consisting of an "Aria" and a set of 30 variations) by Johann Sebastian Bach and performed by the great canadian pianist Glenn Gould at the piano. The melody of the "Aria da Capo" is made to stand out by what has gone on in the last five variations, and it is likely to appear wistful or nostalgic or subdued or resigned or sad, heard on its repeat as something coming to an end, the same notes but now final. This my piece is totally about it
