Interior painting

Interior painting is a painting whose purpose is to serve as an interior decoration. Artists have been working for this purpose since the earliest times of human history. Since ancient times, people have decorated their homes with cave paintings, and later with frescoes and other forms of monumental art - mosaics, panels and stained glass. Carpets and tapestries can also be attributed to interior decorating art. Tapestry is a one-sided pileless carpet designed for wall decoration. Tapestry can be made both manually and with the help of a machine, it can be decorated with ornaments or plot composition. Such works began to be created in ancient Egypt, Assyria and Babylon. In the old days, tapestries were a real sign of luxury. To decorate the walls served and art panels. On the walls of rooms, ceilings or doors with the help of different materials - paint, stone, wood - were applied various images or elements of sculpture. Of course, the decoration of interiors at all times served and paintings. Of course, the picture is a finished work of art, and it is not tied to the decoration of any interior or room. Its content is quite independent and does not depend on the place in which it is placed. But still some paintings are ideal, for example, for the living room. The main thing is that they do not violate the general idea of the interior that the designer has created.

Paintings began to spread as an element of room decoration around the fourteenth century in Europe. They were used to decorate the residences and homes of rulers and wealthy people. Interior painting is, in fact, the most numerous and popular of its varieties, bringing artists income. Although it is inferior in rank to paintings created as a new word in art, intended for exhibitions, galleries and other biennales, where, in theory, the works should surprise or even shock the art-savvy public. What is the peculiarity of this genre? Paintings in the interior should be understandable to the general public, evoke pleasant associations, not irritate. Refined aesthetes, of course, wrinkle their nose at such criteria and accuse the authors of such paintings in indulging the unsophisticated tastes of the mass audience. But let it remain on their, aesthetes, conscience. After all, artists are also people and want to eat. And therefore, and sell their paintings for interior decoration. By the way, once the masters, who are now recognized and famous, sold their works for a bowl of soup in taverns, where they decorated the walls. Let's remember at least Niko Pirosmani.

Let's name some of the prominent artists of interior painting. Giuseppe Bonito was an 18th-century Italian painter who experienced in his work an evolution from the Baroque to Rococo style. At the beginning of his career he worked on commissions from religious communities. Later he fulfilled commissions from the royal court in Naples as a portraitist and interior painter. He was also a master of fresco painting. He became the first director of the Naples Academy of Art and head of the royal tapestry manufactory. All of Naples knew that the best place to buy an interior painting was from this master. Niko Pirosmani from the end of XIX century painted decorative panels and signs for drinking establishments and shops. The material for his works often served as oilcloth from the tables, and the artist wrote mainly with homemade paints. The subjects of his works are often festive feasts. Gustav Klimt - an artist of the Art Nouveau era, carried out orders to decorate buildings in Vienna - churches, palaces, theater, university, also wrote portraits to order. Now a painting by this artist can be bought only at auctions at a high price.

Besides original works for interior decoration nowadays you can buy reproduction of paintings by famous artists. Modern technologies of creating printed images, prints allow you to do this without difficulty. An interesting modern method of decorating interiors - airbrush; drawings on the walls are applied with the help of a can of paint. Also the dwelling or office can be well decorated with a poster or photo. You can buy an interior painting for your living room, bedroom or kitchen on the Jose Art Gallery website.
