Vasyl Skrypka, Ukraine

Vasyl Skrypka was born on August 10, 1960 in the village of Rosishka, Rakhiv district, Transcarpathia, to a family of teachers. In 1977-1981 he worked in a souvenir shop in Velik Bychkov with a degree in "sawing wood and rooting". He received his art education (1983-1988) at the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (Faculty of Furniture Design and Interior Design). 1988-1990 teacher in the specialty "Design" in Radziwyliv. Then the artist returned to his native village. He also worked there - a teacher, a shepherd. Since 1991 - a member of the Youth Union "Western Union of Artists of Ukraine". Since 1993. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (Uzhgorod). Significant influence on the creative manner of the artist had such Lviv artists as Roman Selsky and Carlo Zvirinsky. From the Transcarpathian artists Vasily Skripka was interested in the work of Fyodor Manila. Vasily Skripka is a very experienced and unusual artist. Works on a sensual level. This is borne out by the story told by numerous artists that the art historian from St. Petersburg, when he saw the works of Vasily Skripka, called him the "Carpathian Roerich" and also called to St. Petersburg with the aim of organizing an exhibition for him to help “get on his feet” financially.. However, Vasily disagreed - he loves his land and his native mountain Rakhov region too much. The artist was repeatedly called to work in Uzhgorod, but he refused flatly, saying that he could work only in his native village. In his work, he uses mostly oil, writes on canvas, cardboard. Vasily Skripka's works are kept in private collections in Ukraine, Europe, the USA and in museums in Canada and Ukraine (Lviv, Uzhgorod, Sumy).
