The spring had been rainy and I had to postpone my planned walk rounds. I was grounded. I turned to garden flowers. I assume you have some interest in flowers since you are taking time to look at this picture. Maybe you only like flowers hanging on the walls and have no clue about gardening. Maybe you are very fond of flowers but living in a big city keeps you away from the real thing most of the time. Anyway, the fact is that there are those who are trying to turn gardening into a business. New varieties of flowers are put on the market every season. You may plant hyacinths in every colour you imagine and with a little effort you'll have beautiful, big, strong flowers. Explosion of colours. But, they lack one essential quality- you can not smell them, they have no scent whatsoever. Yes, but the hyacinths in my garden are not a new hybrid. They derive from the seeds planted in our garden short after the house was built. That is around eighty years ago. So, they have seen five generations of our family.
