Natasha Petrosova

Natasha Petrosova, United States

Natasha Pterosova was born in former Soviet Union.  She begun painting and drawing from early age.  Her first art teacher was her grandmother - Maria Kuznetzova - whose art career was interrupted by Bolshevik Revolution and  later by the World War II.  While living in Moscow, Natasha  attended art school for children and participated in multiple art shows and competitions.   Natasha came to United States with her parents (Peter and Ivet) in early 90s.  Here in United States she studied art at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California , the same school that Thomas Kinkade graduated from.   Currently , Natasha lives and works in Long Beach , California.  She became fascinated by pop surrealism during her school years at Art center college of design.  She is inspired by paintings of Mark Ryden and Marion Peck.  Natasha's paintings tell the story and evoke emotions.  In her paintings , Natasha mixes techniques of old masters and modern palette knife techniques.  She loves stories about queens and kings, wars and exiles. her world is a world full dreamy wonderlands ,  that everyone would love to visit but no one can go to.  Natasha uses bold , vibrant and unexpected colors that capture emotion of  her fantasy land with flying  jellybeans, queens and castles.
