Nika of Samothrace (II century BC) is an ancient Greek marble sculpture of the goddess Nika, found on the island of Samotraki on the territory of the sanctuary of the Great Gods in April 1863 by the French consul and amateur archaeologist Charles Champoiseau. In the same year she was sent to France. The sculpture is so perfect and beautiful that it inspired me to capture it on canvas in a free interpretation.
Artists are rarely able to write and speak beautifully. Especially about themselves. That is the lot of writers and poets. Artists express their thoughts and dreams in their paintings, in their creations. In each painting you can see their soul, their experience, their mood. Look at paintings… They will tell you a lot more than words.
