Description of the Artwork “In Harmony”

I have used elements like the symbol of "His Master's Voice" depicted by the dog and the gramophone along with the lady who is in a reclining position and is enjoying the music. The violins and the notes of the music further enhance the composition. The beautiful young lady is in complete harmony with the music and is enjoying her time. The butterflies on the body of the lady are part of my style where I use perfect symmetrical forms like squares, rectangles, checks and butterflies to cover my human figures thereby symbolizing the strive for constant improvement and perfection of the contemporary human race.

About the artist

“Painting is another way of keeping a Diary” Pablo Picasso. A quote that has an influence on all paintings by Sonaly Gandhi! The quick and easy availability of information at the click of a button has not only changed the way we live but also our relationships. The Diary of her life is filled with experiences of such evolving relationships between men and women, which she portrays through her works. She uses perfect symmetrical forms like squares, rectangles, checks and butterflies to cover her human figures thereby symbolizing the strive for constant improvement and perfection of the contemporary human race. Her paintings portray the relationships of the 21st century men and women, their emotions and chemistry. They manifest and exemplify the kind of complete freedom exercised by both genders, in the present times. Her works have featured in various newspaper articles and many of them have been sold to renowned private collectors and interior designers in India and Internationally.
