Description of the Artwork “Blue Snow”

This image shows the cold being sooo cold that it actually froze the fog. Some critiques given are that the "negative space" is too large, that I should add something in the sky, from stars, to the moon to santa clause. The atmosphere which would be described by some as negative space forms part of the image and is what gives the focal point the impact that I strive to achieve in all my paintings.

About the artist

My work as an artist began in 1997 when I started lessons with a local artist, working mostly in charcoal. I discovered a skill that intrigued me and, in 1999, the urge to paint led me to work with oil. Memories of my father standing at his easel creating beautiful oil paintings, mainly fr om his imagination and memories when he grew up, added to my intrigue. I have loved painting fr om day one. Since 1999, I have continued to paint as a hobby while working full time in law and raising my family. After retiring from the practice of law in 2012, I have embraced a career as Artist –Portraitist. I have launched my website on May 1, 2018 [pmcgallery.com], and am very busy creating conceptual art, as well as continuing to paint portraits. I also paint portraits, images of which are visible on my web site. These I do on commission. My first group showing was in September 2018, wh ere I participated in the Moncton ArtWalk, a new concept wh ere organizers encouraged local artists to be paired with local downtown businesses, to raise awareness of works created right at home by many artists working in different mediums. I am currently working on pieces that I am inspired to create, which portray life in nature. My art is well-received. Commissions are still keeping me busy, but I devote the time I need to create pieces that I proudly display and/or sell.
