Neptune's Nemesis" is an extra large original abstract expressionism statement painting which makes a stunning focal point for a bold contemporary space. The piece features a juxtaposition of vivid beautiful colours contrasting well with the cooler blue hues, with white and black drips splashed across the canvas. Visual interest is added with texture and a high gloss resin finish. Neptune is the god of the sea in Roman mythology, a brother of Jupiter and Pluto. After the defeat of their father Saturn (Cronos), the three brothers divided the world in three parts to be ruled by one of the three brothers. Jupiter took the sky, Neptune the sea and Pluto the underworld. Neptune was depicted as a bearded man holding a trident and seated in a seashell drawn by sea-horses. My name is Alexandra Romano, I am an artist living and working in Toronto, Canada. My passion is creating eye-catching artworks which include bold colour schemes; vibrant abstracts that stand out as a focal point in any space - a conversation piece. I am an abstract artist, who delights in the freedom of abstraction and the ability to explore impressionism and expressionism. Works are frequently inspired by nature, geometric elements and life all around. I work primarily with acrylics and I enjoy experimenting with oils, ink and spray paint too. I rely on a natural, intuitive approach while creating my paintings. I craftily use unorthodox tools and my signature techniques to create texture to give the piece interesting depth and a unique design. I love to experiment and be present during the whole process as I observe each piece come to life, layer by layer; it's my meditation.
