This piece was an academic assignment gifted to me from the Academy of Art University, as a means to focus on the from, flow and shadow planes of drapery. As such, we were instructed to choose a piece of drapery, hang it in any way we desired, and then draw it from life carefully only in charcoal. This was my second fully complete charcoal drawing. This piece measures 18" x 24".
Nymera Nicole is an aspiring freelance illustrator, and current art school student, building her portfolio of illustrations and digital art as she works towards her degree in Illustration with a study in Video Game Conceptual Art, and Comic Illustration. She often spends her time creating new pieces of art, and exploring techniques with ink as well as digital art, and has a great interest in creating illustrations for a wide range of fields to reflect her interests, including medical, archaeological, architectural and biological studies. Nymera's strongest artistic skills lie in digital art, photo manipulation, and traditional illustration with a range of mediums including traditional charcoal illustration, ink, marker, colored pencil, and pastel. She goes by her friends and family as Nymera but professionally by her birth name, Taylor Thornton.
