Music On World Off Music is therapy, it moves people, it connects peoples, it soothes the mind and heals the heart. The thing about music is, is not only does it take you away, but sometimes it brings your back. I found my 15 year old son laying one the floor, head phones on, plugged in, listening to the same Foo Fighters CD I was listening to 20 years ago when I was his age, and wondered if it took him to the same place that it took me? Was he feeling what I felt at his age? Was he seeing the same world I saw? Or is the same song bringing a whole new world and experience to him? Dave Grohl said “One of the great things about music, you can sing a song to 85,000 people and they’ll sing it back for 85,000 different reasons.”
Gustav Klimt said "Art is a line around your thoughts.” I love that. That is exactly what art is to me. All my thoughts that are constantly running through my mind, all my words that that are constantly failing me. Things I want to say, but I’m not sure how, that’s why I paint. All the beautiful things and all the sad things that are in that I don’t know how to get out. And if means something to someone else, if they can see it and think I’ve felt that, or thought that and didn’t know how to say it, than that is even better. But mostly my art is just a collection of my thoughts, my dreams, my feelings, my stories I never told anyone.
