The image features a split composition that contrasts two artistic approaches to the same scene. On the lower right half is the original photograph, showing a cityscape with colonial domes, historic buildings, and vegetation reflected in a body of water under natural lighting. The realistic perspective captures the sharpness and architectural details of the surroundings. On the other hand, the upper left half transforms this same scene through a digital technique that simulates an oil painting style. The contours of the domes and buildings are softened, the colors are intensified with warm hues, and the full moon is highlighted with an ethereal glow, evoking a dreamlike and emotionally charged atmosphere. This work highlights the duality between the digital and the painterly, a central theme of the “Pixels and Pigments” collection, exploring how modern techniques can reinterpret the essence of a historic place with an artistic approach.
I am a self-taught photographer with a deep passion for capturing the beauty of landscapes and nature. Although my primary focus is the natural world, I also enjoy photographing people in their authentic environments. My work in fine art photography is distinguished by its dramatic and evocative qualities. As a Colombian living in Bogotá, I am fortunate to call home a country blessed with stunning geography. This natural wealth serves as a constant source of inspiration for a photographer like myself. For me, being a photographer means perpetually observing the world, capturing fleeting moments in time and deriving inspiration from the resulting images. It is about the magic of reliving and reimagining those moments every time I look at a photograph, creating something truly exceptional and inspiring. My photography is dedicated to immortalizing the natural splendor that surrounds us, with a primary emphasis on landscapes and the wonders of the natural world. I am continually driven by the interplay of light, texture, and color. My creative techniques seek to produce images that invoke a deep sense of wonder. I also occasionally employ post-processing to infuse my photos with a touch of drama and a unique final effect resembling oil paintings. Each photograph I create is a unique work of art, born from my deep passion and unwavering commitment. My ultimate goal is to create images that are not only aesthetically appealing, but also thought-provoking, encouraging viewers to contemplate their relationship with the natural world.
