Description of the Artwork “Ethereal Reverie”

The painting, which we can title "Ethereal Reverie," is a captivating work created using gouache on Wasli, a traditional medium that adds a unique texture and cultural depth to the piece. Measuring 21 x 27 inches, this artwork from 2024 likely features the rich, opaque qualities of gouache, suggesting vibrant colors and a matte finish. "Ethereal Reverie" evokes a dreamlike quality, with flowing forms and soft transitions that might suggest a blend of reality and imagination. The use of Wali as a surface could imply a connection to traditional art forms, adding a layer of historical or cultural significance. The painting might depict abstract landscapes, ethereal figures, or symbolic elements that invite viewers to interpret its meaning personally. The title reflects the artwork's potential to transport viewers to a serene, contemplative state, encouraging them to explore the interplay of color, form, and texture in a meditative way.

About the artist

Muhammad muzammil khan born in 1987 in karachi received his BFA in miniature painting from the national college of arts, lahore,in 2016. Khan has won the Haji sharif prize in miniature painting and has widely exhibited nnationally aswell as international. He has exhibited at the following galleries; Aicon gallery new work. Reitberg museum in switzerland and Solo show with sanat art gallery karachi (lyari express way ) Another solo show with OArt space gallery lahore (after lyari express way) and many group shows. The attachment and love for space and time which holds ones precious memories hanging in the past, provides the basis for my art practice. This journey and attachment of Time sprung a few years back when my house had been demolished by the government for a project. That act left me in pain and a flashback of memories of my house, surroundings and space. I work in miniature technique with a hyper-realistic approach, giving attention to every acute portion of the painting.
