In “Silent Sails,” I sought to capture the sensation of wind moving through light and space rather than depicting a literal sea. The soft, layered forms evoke gently billowing sails suspended in a quiet, contemplative atmosphere. Working with subtle tonal shifts, I allowed the colors to breathe into one another, creating a sense of calm drift and weightless motion. The painting is less about destination and more about the feeling of being carried — gently, silently, and peacefully. For me, this piece reflects a moment of stillness in movement, where time seems to pause and the spirit can simply glide.
Liubov Kuptsova now resides in the Ukraine, where she has exhibited her paintings in a solo event. Abstraction takes a special place in her artistic approach. For Kuptsova, her main challenge is to capture the essence of the plot, the mood, impulse, and emotion. Continuous motifs that link her works are animals, birds, flowers, and people. She creates using oils on canvas.
