In 'Lake in the Fog', Mercedes Gordo immerses us in a dream landscape, where the reality of winter is softened through the morning mists. The fusion of blue tones with the white of the snow and fog creates an ethereal, almost mystical atmosphere, where time seems to stop. The trees and birds, barely glimpsed in the background, invite reflection on the stillness and constant change of the natural world. This work is a tribute to the calming and mysterious power of nature in its purest state.
Art has always been my calling. I believe there is something deeply transformative in creating, in shaping matter and turning it into a personal and magical space, channeling a unique sensitivity to observe and interpret the world. Painting is my language; a way to communicate and, at the same time, positively isolate myself from everyday reality. Through each brushstroke, I find a way to express emotions and feelings that I could hardly communicate otherwise. Painting allows me to reveal the most sensitive facet of my being and share my own vision of the world. Thus, my works seek to convey not only emotions, but also messages and reflections on our existence, social challenges and life itself. My artistic career began in realism, focused on landscapes and still lifes. Over time, I have explored more contemporary techniques and styles, creating a fusion between the classic and the modern. In each work, my goal is for the design, color and texture to awaken deep emotions in the viewer and open a space for reflection.
