Sculi — Contemporary Sculptor Sculi is a contemporary French sculptor whose work explores the relationships between form, color, and light. At first glance, his sculpture may appear abstract. However, it does not seek abstraction for its own sake. On the contrary, Sculi attempts to give a visible and material existence to that which, by nature, has no form: feelings, energy, moods, tensions, and inner movements. He gives form to abstraction. Matter then becomes a language. Volumes assemble, confront, or balance each other; colors modify their perception; light passes through, reveals, or transforms the sculpture depending on the space and the viewer. Thus, the work is never just made of matter. It is born from the encounter between forms, colors, and light. It is from this research that Cosmomorphism emerges, an artistic approach developed by Sculi. In Cosmomorphism, sculpture is not thought of as a fixed form, but as a set of interacting forces. A color can extend a volume, a light can reveal another, a shadow can create a new form. Depending on the viewing angle, light intensity, or environment, the work transforms and reveals different perceptions. This permanent transformation is an integral part of the sculpture. Through his works, Sculi thus seeks to make the invisible perceptible: to give a body to an emotion, a volume to an energy, a color to a mood, a presence to what until then only existed in feeling. His sculptures lie at the border of the material and the immaterial, the visible and the invisible, the real and the imaginary. Cosmomorphism is born from this assembly of forms, colors, and light, brought together to create a new reality. Giving form to abstraction. Making the invisible visible.

The artistic education of Sculi, whose real name is Ulrich Jacquot-Préaux, is primarily self-taught. It began at the age of fourteen, in 1991, with his first stone work, and continued with the study of stone, wood, metal, resin, light, and sound. His journey is based on experimentation, observation, and constant research rather than traditional academic training. Sculi believes that one never stops learning in art. He regularly visits museums, exhibitions, and galleries, studies works, and explores the ideas of different artistic movements. He does not seek to reproduce them, but to understand their concepts and nourish his own reflection. Exchange with other artists occupies an essential place in this approach. Meetings, dialogues, and the confrontation of experiences constitute a true source of learning for him. Exchanges with visitors also contribute to this ongoing reflection. In this desire to bring more art into his life, Sculi created the Galerie d’Art Rendez-Vous in 2020. He invites other artists to exhibit there, transforming this place into a space for meeting, sharing, and transmission. The gallery thus becomes the natural extension of his artistic education: after having sought art in museums and galleries, he creates a place where art comes to meet him. This approach also reveals his philanthropic commitment. For Sculi, supporting art also means giving time, space, and opportunities to other artists. His philanthropy is thus expressed through art: circulating culture, fostering encounters, supporting creators, and, whenever possible, putting art at the service of collective causes. His artistic education remains a permanent learning process today: learning from works, artists, and encounters, and continuing to pass it on in turn.
