Shen Jingdong

Born in 1965 in Nanjing, Shen Jingdong is an acclaimed contemporary artist of the Chinese new wave. He studied fine arts at Nanjing Xiaozhuang University and at Nanjing Academy of Art's Department of Fine Arts before serving in the battlefront art troupe of Nanjing Military Region's Political Department. After 16 years of service, Shen now paints and sculpts the world he experienced in his studio in Beijing, with the iconography of China serving as his main source of inspiration.
