Since I was a child with my first set of crayons I've been creating art in one form or another. My mother was my greatest artistic inspiration and supporter. The process of collage making is one of my favourite ways to create. I've dabbled with many types of mediums and styles and have comfortably settled into digital collage (for now!) In my studio, digital does not mean fast and easy --- it takes hours and days for me to complete my work -- adding "digital" layer upon layer with an assortment of other blending options until I am satisfied. That can take days/weeks or months. Now, all of my art is 100% digitally created - but that doesn't mean they get done any faster or lack the look of depth and texture. I work with sometimes over 100 layers in the artwork before I am satisfied with the imagery. When my final art is printed onto artist quality canvas, I finally feel them coming to life. My art is inspired by words that evoke the imagery in my minds eye; at least that's where I will usually start the process. The words accompany the art so that they too might inspire the viewer. Powerful words can help a person get through a difficult time, and that's what I hope to present in my art.
