Jayabalan Dhamodaran

Myself D.Jayabalan Indian based artist after graduating from College of fine art Chennai. From today's regular trend I move between my own style combining with figurative having social themes and continued to paint in various mediums. My work portrays the day to day life around us. The subject of my current paintings is usually people,fish,nature,folk,figurative,portraiture and I try to show them realistically. Main thing which I try to do the needful is to convey the usage of colour,form,balance and other painting techniques which creates a dense,subtle and slowly deepening mixture of overlapping colours and shapes. Had the rare opportunity of working with A.P. Santhanraj mentor my Guru. Participated in several group shows as well as some solo shows one of those are Bangalore Chitrakala Group Exhibition in 2012. My awards include Oriental Art Award for water colour in the year 1985&1987. State academy award for Creative Painting, Chennai Anna University in the year 1988 , Kalakriti award in Group Exhibition in the year 1990, Lalith Academy in 1996,1997,1998,1999 also in India Southern Region Lion Club Award in 2003 .

After attending Jaigopal garodia chennai, I went on to study at the College of fine art Madras.
