NIGHT, ART AND WINE

A night in a museum in complete solitude surrounded only by old paintings. This is not a screenplay of a Hollywood horror film. This is a reward for our hero. The prizeman is a simple Dutch teacher Stephan Casper. He was lucky to become the ten millionth visitor of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam since the opening in 2013 after reconstruction. To enjoy the night, he was served a nice dinner from the chef (gazpacho soup and beef cheeks) and a bottle of wine from the museum’s restaurant, which thus contributed into the hero’s celebration. The museum provided a couch to the hero, but this night adventure did not arouse a desire to sleep. Mister Casper acknowledged that during the whole night he barely slept for two hours. He did not have much time to sleep as he decided to roam every room of the museum and to take a selfie in front of the paintings. This wonderful art adventure helped the prizewinner to acquire taste for classic art. After the night in the museum Stephan Casper said he had not admired Rembrandt before, but now he has changed his mind about this artist’s artworks. I was sleeping just two meters from Rembrandt’s “Night’s Watch”. Wonderful! I still cannot believe it! I saw characters who I had never noticed before. They were coming to life in my imagination. This is the impression which will always stay in my memory. These emotional comments were said by Casper in the interview to France Press news agency.
