This painting describes the ancient history of Carthage, from its splendor to its utter destruction. Artist Anton Zapotochny masterfully uses modern techniques to convey the tragic beauty of ruins and the emptiness left after majestic battles. In every line and form, he tries to reproduce the drama of a vanished civilization, drawing attention to the insignificance and greatness that remained after many centuries. The production makes the viewer stop and think about how glory and greatness can be erased into dust, leaving only shadows of the past.
was born in the city of Zaporizhzhia, near the Dnipro, the city of heroes, the city of Cossacks, the center of freedom and independence. I started drawing since childhood, since childhood, as long as I can remember, I loved nature and the beauty of God's creation. I started painting professionally from the beginning of the war, made it my main job and thereby risked realizing my old dream, doing what I love most.
